I assumed that this drum reset chip screwed up my motherboard as I did not have this error message before the chip installation. I paid for 14.99 to get this chip and I thought that my printer became a brick. I was so upset with the result and contacted the manufacture (their email address was written on the instruction manual). However, it stopped working after the chip installation (I still had at least 200 pages to print more using the same drum!!!) with a message of replace the waste toner bottle. My printer was working ok before the chip installation - it was showing the warning messages about drum unit as the page counter was just over 15800 pages.
I had an issue after the chip installation as the old instruction manual came together with the chip did not explain what the possible problems after the chip installation are and how to prevent the issues. I found their email address from the old version instruction manual. It is a recommended product.īUTBUTBUT!! If you would like to try this product, I recommend you to get a newer version of instruction manual from the manufacture before opening the chip to minimise possible problems. It is easy to install, it works and it does not require welding. This chip needs to be removed after the installation. I finally found this chip on Google, saw the instruction on Youtube before buying.
I did not want to attach something in my printer as I was not sure how safe they are. Almost all of reset chip require welding or printer firmware reset. Also, they are coming from US, so, the P&P was ridiculusly high. I found Reset fuses/chips for same purpose on the eBay for cheaper price(under 7 pounds), but they require welding. Unexpectedly, I started having the drum counter issue when I had too many new toner cartridges left, so, I had to buy either a new printer, drum unit or drum reset chip. The new set of toner cartridges cost even more than the new printer. The drum unit cost nearly same as a new printer. Only one issue with this printer is the cost of consumables.
I usually print B&W documents and happy with the speed and printing quality of my printer. I have a Samsung CLP-360 printer for my business and I print a lot.
